Lviv forklift (auto-forklift) – or what is new in the old name.
In this article, we continue the story of the Lviv forklift, which was published earlier.
If we briefly outline the questions covered in the article, they can be conventionally divided as follows:
-
Where, how, and why — despite all its shortcomings (there is no ideal forklift) — the Lviv forklift remains in demand?
-
What major and key changes were implemented that affected the technical characteristics of the forklift?
-
What is new in the forklifts we produce?
We believe you will be interested to learn what the new Lviv MF-series diesel forklift is.
Where, how, and why — despite all its shortcomings (there is no ideal forklift) — the Lviv forklift remains in demand?
Ready? Let’s probably begin with the fact that we won’t be “reinventing the wheel”; we will simply list the information about Lviv forklifts that is likely familiar to everyone and published on every respectable resource covering these machines.
Lviv forklifts are mainly used for moving loads in warehouses, factory yards, airports, or railway stations, for work in sea and river ports, for loading and unloading operations, as well as for stacking goods. In general, wherever there is cargo that needs to be moved, a forklift is simply indispensable.
Lviv forklifts have many advantages compared to their foreign “classmates”:
-
feature increased cross-country capability for outdoor operation
-
are adapted to work on almost all types of surfaces
-
are cost-effective and undemanding in operation
-
servicing and maintenance are much cheaper
Lviv forklifts use mainly automotive components, which is an additional significant advantage, as spare parts for them are always available. Low production cost combined with high quality and long service life are the key strengths of the Lviv forklift.
The Lviv forklift still holds one of the leading positions in terms of application and use today. Throughout its history, the Lviv forklift has undergone many changes and improvements that enhanced the technical characteristics of the forklifts manufactured in Lviv. Many shortcomings that arose during operation and maintenance were taken into account. At that time, an important advantage of the Lviv forklift was its “all-weather” usability and its low maintenance requirements. Therefore, all modifications were driven precisely by these demands. Over time, the requirements for forklifts changed, which in turn dictated the updates made to the design and components of the machine.
What major and key changes were made that affected the technical characteristics of the forklift?
There were many changes. We cannot list all of them in one article.
The main ones are as follows:
-
The power unit was replaced with the M243 diesel engine from the Minsk Engine Plant, which is more productive and more reliable;
- A steerable axle was introduced into the steering system of the Lviv forklift, as the shortcomings of its predecessor were obvious and previously mentioned. This improved the machine’s maneuverability and enhanced its technical characteristics by reducing the turning radius;
-
The driver’s cabin was redesigned. Visibility and operator comfort were improved;
-
-
The use of in-house–manufactured hydraulic cylinders became an additional advantage—reliability and, most importantly, confidence in the quality of the cylinders;
-
The engine hood was lowered to the maximum possible level to improve rear visibility when driving. The new design allowed the overall dimensions to be reduced while maintaining the required technical specifications.
The load frame was upgraded: the hydraulic cylinders were moved to the outer side of the load frame, which improved cabin visibility both during load handling and movement;

Mikro-F Ltd. offers repair and maintenance services for forklifts across the entire model range of the Lviv Forklift Plant, regardless of their year of manufacture. We also sell spare parts for forklifts and, when necessary, manufacture parts that are no longer produced. We perform repairs of assemblies and components.
If you cannot afford to stop production during the repair of your forklift, we offer you the option to rent a forklift for the required period, with transportation to your facility included.
What is new in the forklifts we manufacture?
During this relatively short period (since 1995), Mikro-F Ltd. has implemented numerous changes to the machine’s design. Much has been done to improve its technical characteristics. Now it is a completely different, new Lviv forklift that proudly continues the legacy of the Lviv Forklift Plant.
We consider our main achievement today to be the production of the MF-series forklifts, which elevate the Lviv forklift to new, higher levels of development—enhancing quality while preserving its key advantage: a low price. After all, one of the main strengths of this type of equipment has always been its price-to-quality ratio and its low maintenance requirements.
