NICHIYU — Which engine is better to choose?
Such a question inevitably arises before purchasing a forklift. Indeed, which engine is better to choose — electric or internal combustion (petrol, LPG, diesel)? There is no single and universal answer to this question — everything depends on a number of economic and technical factors. From the economic perspective, operating costs for an electric forklift are lower: one hour of its operation is approximately 2–3 times cheaper than one hour of operating a forklift with an internal combustion engine (ICE). This is due to the difference in the cost of energy carriers and maintenance. This topic was examined in detail in the article by Alekseyev A. “Nichiyu — pioneer and leader in the production of electric forklifts,” published in DIL No. 8, August 2007.
