A traction battery is a constant power source for forklifts, reach trucks, stackers, pallet trucks, and other electrically driven warehouse equipment. Mikro-F Ltd. offers both lead-acid and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries, depending on the customer’s operational needs.

Lead-Acid Batteries

The lead-acid batteries offered are manufactured in compliance with the following standards:

  • DIN – equipped with PzS-type cells.
  • BS – equipped with PzB-type cells.

Features of lead-acid traction batteries:

  • The optimized plate design improves technical performance compared to standard requirements.
  • All cells and connectors are fully insulated. Only flexible connectors are used, ensuring superior electrical contact.
  • Reinforced mechanical design of the cell container.
  • Enhanced voltage stability and discharge characteristics.
  • Recommended operating temperature range: from –10°C to +50°C.
  • Service life: 1800 charge/discharge cycles (at a depth of discharge up to 70%).

In addition to a wide range of lead-acid batteries with liquid electrolyte, we also offer maintenance-free gel traction batteries with PzV (DIN) and PzVB (BS) cell standards.
Along with our extensive selection of traction batteries, we supply a full set of components and accessories for them.

When purchasing a traction battery for an electric forklift or stacker, every buyer wants it to perform excellently and last as long as possible. To achieve this, a high-quality charger is essential. It allows the battery to quickly and safely regain its lost capacity and ensures reliable further operation. It is also important to remember that charging traction batteries of different types and models requires the use of different types of chargers.

Mikro-F Ltd. offers chargers for traction batteries that match both your requirements and the technical specifications of your battery. You can purchase automatic transformer-type and high-frequency chargers from Powergen (Italy), a well-known manufacturer recognized for high quality and reliability. Powergen chargers are produced using advanced technologies, specialized hardware, and additional software that allows connection to a personal computer for charge monitoring and assessing the condition of the traction battery. These chargers can fully meet the charging needs of all types of traction batteries by focusing on high performance and charging efficiency. The use of microprocessor control systems ensures proper charger operation and accurate monitoring of the battery during charging, which ultimately extends the service life of traction batteries.

Lithium Batteries (LiFePO₄)

A modern alternative is lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries, which are rapidly gaining popularity due to their efficiency and zero maintenance requirements. They have a higher initial cost but pay off quickly thanks to their longer lifespan and reduced charging time.

Advantages of LiFePO₄:

• Fast charging (1.5–3 hours), partial charging possible
• No maintenance required (no water, no acids)
• Service life 2–3 times longer than lead-acid batteries
• Built-in BMS (Battery Management System) ensuring safety, temperature control, and charge monitoring
• Safe chemistry (non-flammable, stable)
• Recommended operating temperature range from –20°C to +55°C
• Lifespan of 3000 to 5000 charge/discharge cycles (at up to 70% depth of discharge)

Storage Tips for LiFePO₄ Batteries:

• Store batteries at a temperature between +10°C and +30°C in a dry, ventilated area.
• If the battery is not used for more than one month, charge it to approximately 50–60% and check the charge level periodically (every 1–2 months).
• Avoid long-term storage in a discharged state, as this may damage the battery.
• For extended downtime, disconnect the battery from the equipment or power system to prevent parasitic discharge.

LiFePO₄ batteries are an ideal solution for enterprises with multi-shift or intensive operation, as well as for environments where energy efficiency and minimal maintenance costs are essential.

To order a traction battery, you need to provide our specialists with the following information:

• Battery voltage
• Required battery capacity
• Dimensions of the battery tray (L×W×H, mm)
• Type of electric equipment the battery is intended for
